Tim Cunningham commenced his PhD at the Transitional Justice Institute in December 2009 and is looking at the impact of urban regeneration on addressing group inequality and segregation.  Prior to commencing his PhD, Tim worked for the Committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ), a Northern Ireland based human rights NGO, as their equality programme officer for ten years.  At CAJ he was the main researcher on their 2006 report “Equality in Northern Ireland: the rhetoric and the reality”, which looked at the extent to which the equality provisions contained within the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement had been successfully implemented.  Tim has worked on a number of other submissions/reports produced by CAJ in addition to presenting a number of conference papers on behalf of the organisation, with a particular focus on the operation of the Equality Impact Assessment process within Northern Ireland.  Tim graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in December 2009 with an LLM in Human Rights Law (with distinction), and in the same year was appointed to the Historic Monuments Council for Northern Ireland.
