1 May 2012: International conference on Gendering Conflict and Post-Conflict Terrains: New Challenges and Opportunities, organized by the University of Minnesota Law School with the Transitional Justice Institute. The event is co-sponsored by the American Society of International Law and funded by the Robina Foundation.

22 April 2012: Deadline for applications for 5th Annual Summer School on Transitional Justice - this year's theme is 'Gender, Conflict and UN Security Council Resolution 1325' is 4 May 2012.  The Summer School will take place from 25-29 June at the University of Ulster's Jordanstown campus, just outside Belfast. *Bursaries are available*

19 April 2012: Conall McDevitt MLA delivers a seminar on 'A Memory of Memory in the Spanish Transition' in Dalriada House, Jordanstown campus. A podcast of the seminar is now available.

30 March 2012: TJI launches a new LLM Gender, Conflict and Human Rights programme.  We are now accepting applications for this exciting new research-led masters programme based at the Jordanstown campus.
30 March 2012: Professor Fionnuala Ni Aolain's delivered The Dorsey & Whitney Chair in Law Reappointment Lecture on "Rethinking Harm: An International Law Perspective" at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday 27 March.  Professor Ni Aolain concurrently holds a Chair in Law at the TJI. 28 March 2012: Professor Bill Rolston, Director of TJI, delivers a presentation on "Politically Motivated Ex-prisoners in Northern Ireland" at TJI in Jordanstown, as part of the IPAC Seminar Series.  The seminar is available to view on YouTube.

20 March 2012: Professor Colm Campbell gave a presentation at “Making Justice: Further Discussions on the Prosecution of Crimes Against Humanity in Argentina”, a conference organized in Buenos Aires by the International Centre for Transitional Justice (New York), and the Centre for Legal and Social Studies (Argentina).
12 March 2012 :Professor Fionnuala Ni Aolain has been nominated for the 2012 University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order for her latest book: On the Frontlines: Gender, War and the Post-Conflict Process, co-authored with Dina Haynes and Naomi Cahn (OUP, 2011).
9 March 2012: Dr Aisling Swaine, Visiting Scholar, was a guest speaker at the Irish Red Cross Roundtable on International Humanitarian Law on 7 March 2012 in Dublin.  An interview with Dr Swaine on the Women of Timor-Leste appears on World and Media, the news site for journalists working in development.
27 February 2012: Vacancy for Professor of Law at University of Ulster is currently advertised.  Deadline for applications is 20 April 2012 with interviews scheduled for 11 May 2012.  Further details are available on the University of Ulster Jobs webpage.
20 February 2012: Professor Monica McWilliams has been selected as one of three candidates being presented by the Consultative Group to the President to the UN Human Rights Council for the new UN position of Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation and guarantee of non-recurrence
10 January 2012: Dr Louise Mallinder has been awarded a research grant from ESRC to undertake a project on Lawyers, Conflict and Transition with colleagues from Queen's University Belfast (Professor Kieran Evoy and Dr Marny Requa).
